In a move that surely has left the spammer responsible laughing hysterically, on September 23 Tripod/Lycos responded to a complaint made by me against a spammer by removing my "Remember Q-Link" web site from their servers. When I wrote to them and pointed out that I am not the spammer, I am the person who made the complaint, they responded by sending me another copy of the same form letter stating that the site had been removed because of the complaint.
Idiots. The world is full of idiots. (Except for you and me, that is.)
Since this is the second time this year that Tripod/Lycos has mistakenly deleted "Remember Q-Link," I decided that it's time to move on and locate the site on its own domain. Thus the creation of qlinklives.org, which will be the permanent home of "Remember Q-Link."
I decided it's also time to fix some things that have been broken for a while. Recent visitors may have noticed that some pages had a different "look" than others. That will no longer be the case once I have the refurbished site uploaded. I am hoping to have that accomplished by the end of this weekend. We'll see how it goes. ;-)
Even though my old email address, qlinklives@lycos.com, still works for the time being, I would prefer you use the address uncleal@qlinklives.org if you would like to write to me. Even if the Lycos email address isn't deleted by those wonderful folks who run that company, I will eventually stop checking it. I forsee that time being 30-60 days down the road.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the folks at Tripod/Lycos for forcing me into doing something I should have done a long time ago. I'd like to also thank all the former Q-Linkers out there who have taken the time to write to me. It may be my web site, but you folks are the ones it's for. Thankyou! :-)
